Most sticker reprints we see were printed correctly. They were the wrong product for the job: a window graphic stuck on the outside of a shopfront when it should have gone inside the glass, a floor sticker ordered for a carpeted foyer, or a batch of stickers that really needed to be roll labels.
This guide is about choosing the product, not the vinyl. For monomeric vs polymeric and how long a print lasts in the sun, see our sticker material guide and outdoor UV durability guide. Here we match what your client is asking for to the right line in our sticker printing range, with the one limit on each product that decides whether it fits.
Mediapoint is a trade-only wide-format printer in Derrimut, Melbourne. Since 2006 we've printed custom stickers, sticker sheets and window graphics for sign shops, print resellers and agencies Australia-wide, white-labelled and blind-shipped, so your clients only ever see your brand.

Everything in the range is UV printed and cut on our Zünd digital cutters. Most sticker products turn around in 2 business days for orders up to $1,000 plus GST once artwork is approved before the daily cut-off, plus 1 business day per extra $1,000 plus GST. No express, and one delivery address per job.
Large format stickers
The default for a single big sticker: window graphics, wall decals, point-of-sale and equipment branding.
Sizes run from 50 x 50mm up to 1300 x 10,000mm. Cutting is square-cut or simple custom-cut (circles, ovals, rounded rectangles, simple outlines); intricate shapes are not available. Rated for indoor and short to medium-term outdoor use, with gloss or matt lamination optional.
Order large format stickers when the brief says one big sticker on a surface.
Kiss cut sticker sheets
A kiss cut sheet carries 1 to 5 simple-shaped stickers on one backing. The cut goes through the vinyl only, so the backing stays whole and the client peels each sticker off. That makes it the product for handouts and merch packs where the sheet itself is the deliverable.
Sheets run from 60 x 60mm to 500 x 500mm. Artwork needs 2 to 3mm bleed and a 5mm minimum margin from each cut line to the sheet edge and between stickers. Supplied flat and trimmed, lamination optional.
If the client wants loose individual stickers, that is a die cut (through the backing too), which points to bumper or large format stickers instead. Order kiss cut sticker sheets when the sheet is the product.
Bumper stickers
Individually cut and supplied stacked, bumper stickers are the bulk product for cars, laptops, toolboxes and giveaways. The limit is shape: square or rectangular only, no contour cuts.
Vinyl is monomeric (around 1 to 2 years outdoors) or polymeric (around 3 to 4 years), gloss or matt, with permanent, removable or block-out adhesive. Unlaminated UV ink is good for about 2 years outdoors; lamination adds about a year and scratch resistance.
Order bumper stickers for stacked rectangular stickers in quantity.
Floor stickers
An indoor product for smooth, sealed hard floors: tiles, polished concrete, vinyl and sealed timber. Not carpet, not rough concrete. They carry a matte anti-slip laminate (check the spec sheet for the slip rating), with removable options.
Life is measured in months: about 3 months in regular foot traffic with the short-term laminate, up to 6 months in high traffic with the heavy-duty laminate. Tell the client they are temporary.
Order floor stickers only after confirming what the floor is made of.
Reversed stickers
Printed in reverse on clear vinyl, backed with white, and applied to the inside of the glass to be read from outside. The print faces the glass, so it is protected from weather, cleaning and picked edges. For a shopfront window that needs to last, this usually beats an outside-applied sticker.
Square, rectangle or simple contour, up to 1200 x 8000mm. The client needs access to the inside of the window and the artwork must be set up in reverse; our reversed stickers guide covers that.
Order reversed stickers for inside-glass window graphics.
Smooth Dot reusable
Smooth Dot uses ReStick Dot vinyl, PVC-free with a dot-pattern adhesive. It goes on bubble-free, comes off with no residue and can be re-stuck, so it suits graphics that rotate between locations or seasonal displays.
Indoor and short-term outdoor, maximum 1200 x 2400mm. Order Smooth Dot reusable stickers when the client needs removable and re-stickable rather than permanent.
Octopus repositionable
Octopus is a Yupo synthetic with a micro-suction surface and no adhesive at all. It leaves nothing behind, and when it picks up dust you wipe it clean to restore the grip. Use it for graphics that move constantly.
Indoor only, maximum 1200 x 2400mm. Order Octopus repositionable graphics when adhesive is the problem the client wants to avoid.
One way vision
A perforated white-on-black window film (EasyVision) with 1.6mm perforations, 60% printable and 40% open. The print covers the window from outside while people inside see out. It is 140 micron PVC with removable adhesive and an unprinted outdoor rating of up to 1 year, so sell it for short-term campaigns.
Two cautions. The see-through effect depends on lighting and works when the printed side is brighter, so don't sell it as guaranteed night-time privacy. And vehicle use is subject to local window rules.
Order one way vision for short-term window coverage with view-through.
When it should be roll labels instead
Products get labels, surfaces get stickers. If the client is labelling jars, bottles, boxes or packaging, they want roll labels, supplied on a roll for fast application. Our stickers vs labels guide covers the edge cases.
Common mix-ups
- Window graphics outside vs inside the glass. An outside-applied sticker takes the weather and the window cleaner. For a long-life shopfront graphic, quote reversed stickers inside the glass.
- Floor stickers on carpet or rough concrete. They won't hold. Smooth sealed hard floors, indoor only.
- Indoor-only products going outdoors. Octopus and floor stickers are indoor products; Smooth Dot is short-term outdoor at most. Long-term outdoor is a large format or bumper sticker on polymeric vinyl with lamination.
- Contour shapes on bumper stickers. Square or rectangular only. For a simple custom outline, use large format stickers.
- Loose stickers ordered as a kiss cut sheet. Kiss cut keeps the backing whole. Individual stickers are a die cut product.
- Stickers for packaging. Jars, bottles and boxes get roll labels.
- One way vision sold as privacy film. At night with the lights on inside, the effect reverses.
FAQ
What is the biggest sticker you can print? Large format stickers go up to 1300 x 10,000mm in one piece. Reversed stickers go up to 1200 x 8000mm.
Can you cut intricate custom shapes? Not on these products. Large format and kiss cut stickers are simple shapes only. Bumper stickers are square or rectangular only.
What is the difference between kiss cut and die cut? Kiss cut goes through the vinyl only, leaving the backing whole. Die cut goes through the backing too, giving individual stickers.
Which sticker is best for a shopfront window? If the client can apply from inside, reversed stickers. If it must go on the outside, a laminated large format sticker.
Do reusable stickers leave residue? No. Smooth Dot comes off clean and re-sticks. Octopus has no adhesive at all and holds by micro-suction.
Does one way vision give privacy at night? Not reliably. It works when the printed side is brighter than the other side. Don't sell it as guaranteed privacy.
What is the turnaround for custom sticker printing? Most sticker products are 2 business days for orders up to $1,000 plus GST once artwork is approved before the daily cut-off, plus 1 business day per extra $1,000 plus GST. No express.
