Answers to the questions we’re asked most, covering ordering, artwork and proofs, production turnaround, delivery, your account and getting around the site. Pick the subject you need below and open the question to read the answer.
Ordering
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
No. Orders move into automated production as soon as they’re submitted, and jobs are often queued for prepress or printing within minutes, so they can’t be changed or cancelled afterwards. A confirmation notice appears before checkout for this reason. Please check artwork, size, quantity and finishing carefully before you submit.
Why does pricing change in steps instead of rising evenly with quantity?
Our pricing uses a true-cost, sheet-based model rather than an averaged square-metre rate. Most products are produced from full sheets, so the price can stay level as quantity increases and then step up at the point an extra sheet is needed.
This reflects what a job actually costs in material, production time and waste, so there are no hidden cross-subsidies between jobs. Square-metre pricing tends to lose margin on poorly used sheets and recover it elsewhere; this model prices each job on its own merits, which means well-optimised layouts work out cheaper.
Can I order more than one size in the same job?
Each job covers a single size, although you can upload multiple artworks for that size if the product allows it. If you need other sizes, add them as separate jobs. You can still place them together in one order and check out once. Keeping one size per job is what allows prepress, printing and finishing to stay automated.
Can I order a sample before committing to a large run?
Yes, and we recommend it, particularly for orders over about $1,000, new artwork, or a material you haven’t used before. Minimum order values are low, so a short run is an inexpensive way to confirm colour, finish and adhesion before scaling up. On large orders placed without a sample, you carry the risk if the result doesn’t match expectations.
Can you make an exception to a finish or turnaround time?
No. Orders have to use the sizes, finishes and turnaround options available in the system at the time of ordering. Standardised workflows are what keep quality consistent, pricing accurate and lead times predictable, and there’s no manual route around them for individual jobs.
If you regularly need something we don’t currently offer, or you’re buying it in volume elsewhere, tell us. We review recurring demand as a possible long-term addition to the system.
Can I save a job and come back to it later?
Yes. You can save a configured job as a quote from the cart, the artwork stage or the delivery stage, and add your own reference to it. Saved quotes are listed under Quotes in your account.
Artwork & Proofs
What artwork should I supply?
Supply a print-ready PDF built on the Mediapoint template for the size you’ve selected. Extend backgrounds through the bleed area, keep important text and logos inside the safe zone, outline your fonts, and check that every panel is the right way up before you approve.
My artwork file is very large. Will it upload?
Yes, up to 2GB per file. Large print-ready files are expected, so upload the full-resolution PDF rather than compressing it down to get it through.
What happens to my file after I upload it?
Every file goes through automated preflight and is checked against the job you actually ordered: size and scaling, trim box, orientation, bleed and resolution. Anything that would stop the file printing correctly is flagged straight back to you before the job moves on, rather than being discovered later in production.
What is Autofix, and when should I use it?
Autofix resolves the most common file problems without you having to go back to the original artwork. There are three tools:
Auto Scale resizes the artwork to the ordered size using the trim box. Auto Trim Box recentres a trim box that has been set incorrectly or is picking up unwanted bleed. Auto Rotate corrects the orientation.
You can apply these to one file or to every affected file at once. One caveat: Auto Scale works from the trim box, so if the trim box itself is wrong, correct that first. Be aware too that scaling can distort proportions.
Do you check artwork by eye, or help with design?
No. We’re a trade-only printer, so we don’t offer artwork setup or design. An in-house design team would compete directly with the resellers we print for. Checking is automated instead, which is what allows problems to be caught within minutes of upload rather than hours later.
Do I have to approve a proof before you print?
Yes. Once a file passes preflight you’ll see a proof for each artwork, and nothing goes into production until it’s approved. You can approve artworks individually, or use Approve All once you’ve reviewed them.
Can I change my artwork after approving it?
No. Approval is what releases the job into production, so it’s the last point at which anything can change. Please review the proof properly before approving rather than treating it as a formality.
Production
How long will my order take to produce?
Turnaround is based on production capacity rather than a fixed time per product. As a general guide, smaller jobs are produced in one to two business days once your order is confirmed before the daily cut-off, and larger jobs add roughly a business day for each additional increment of order value.
The thresholds differ from product to product, so treat the above as a guide only. The exact dispatch date for your job is always shown before you check out.
When does the turnaround clock actually start?
After the final payment checkout screen, not at artwork approval. If your order is confirmed before the daily cut-off, that day counts; if it’s approved after the cut-off, production starts the following business day. A job sitting with approved artwork but not checked out and paid isn’t in the production queue at all.
Do turnaround times include delivery?
No. Every quoted turnaround covers production only, up to the point the job is dispatched. Transit time depends on the carrier and the destination and sits on top of the production time.
Do you guarantee production and delivery dates?
We don’t guarantee either, but we measure it closely: more than 99% of jobs dispatch on or before the date shown in your account. Delivery itself depends on couriers and freight networks, which sit outside our control. If something unexpected does happen, we’ll let you know quickly rather than leaving you to discover it.
How do I check what stage my order is at?
Order status is live in your account under Orders. Once a job has been dispatched, the tracking number appears against the order as well.
Shipping & Delivery
Can you deliver straight to my customer?
Yes. Blind shipping is standard on every order. Your customer receives the goods in unbranded packaging with no Mediapoint branding anywhere on it. You can add your own logo to the packaging label, and attach your own packing slip or delivery documentation so the delivery looks like it came from you.
Can one job be split across several delivery addresses?
No. Each job is packed and dispatched to a single address, which is what keeps packing fast and freight costs low across all trade orders. If you need an order split across locations, a third-party logistics provider is the right tool for it, and we’re happy to refer partners who already do this for other resellers.
How do I track a delivery?
The tracking number appears against the order in your account once the job has been dispatched, and goes out nationwide with full tracking.
Can I add delivery instructions?
You can, but treat them as a request rather than a guarantee. Delivery notes are passed to the carrier and printed on the consignment, and drivers don’t always follow them. Note that these are for the carrier only. Instructions intended for our production team aren’t actioned from this field, we do not allow production notes or anything custom.
My delivery is damaged or hasn’t arrived. What should I do?
Get in touch as soon as you notice, so we can start a claim with the carrier while the evidence is fresh.
For freight that appears lost, be aware the carrier has to formally declare it lost in writing before a claim can be settled, and that investigation can take weeks. We’ll manage the process for you, but we can’t pre-empt the carrier’s findings.
My Account
How do I update my company or contact details?
Both live under Settings in your account. Company Details covers your business information, and Personal Information covers your own name and contact details.
Can I give my team their own logins?
Yes. Go to Settings, then Users, to add people to your account. Everyone gets their own login rather than sharing a single set of credentials, so ordering activity stays attributable.
How do I change or reset my password?
You can change it from Settings while you’re signed in. If you can’t sign in, use the forgot password link on the sign-in page and we’ll email you a reset link.
Can I save delivery addresses I use often?
Yes. Addresses you’ve used are kept in your address book and can be picked at checkout instead of being retyped. Default delivery preferences are under Settings, in Delivery Settings.
How do I control which notifications I receive?
Notification preferences are under Settings, in Notifications, so you can decide which updates are emailed to you and which just appear in your account.
Payments & Credit
Do I have to prepay, or can I order on account?
All orders are prepaid unless you hold an approved Mediapoint trade account. If you do hold one, you order on your agreed terms instead of paying at checkout.
How do I get a trade account?
Trade accounts are available to resellers with an expected annual spend of around $20,000 or more, together with a strong credit record and a consistent trading history with us. Applications are assessed through our credit partner.
These thresholds are set by our debtor insurance provider rather than by us, so they aren’t something we can adjust case by case. If you’re close to that level of spend, it’s worth asking us to review your eligibility.
Where do I find my invoices?
Invoices are listed under Invoices in your account, where you can view and download them.
How do I pay for an order?
Prepaid orders are paid by card at checkout, and the order moves into production once payment clears. Account customers aren’t charged at checkout. Orders are billed against the account on your agreed terms.
What happens if my account falls overdue?
Account customers are bound by the payment terms agreed at signup, including any applicable interest and credit limits. Mediapoint can suspend, revoke or modify credit terms at any time and move an account back to prepaid status without notice, so the simplest way to avoid disruption to your ordering is to keep the account within terms. Full detail is in our terms and conditions.
Using the Website
Why do I need to log in to see pricing?
We print for the trade only, and the pricing in the portal is trade pricing. Keeping it behind a login means your buy price isn’t visible to the public, or to your customers.
How do I place an order?
Choose your product and configure it (size, material, finishing and quantity), and the price and dispatch date update as you go. Add it to your cart, upload artwork, review and approve the proof, then enter delivery details and check out. Production starts once you’ve checked out and paid.
Where do I find previous orders, and can I reorder?
Past orders are under Orders in your account. Where a job can be repeated, a reorder option appears on the order, which recreates it with the same specifications so you don’t have to configure it again.
Because a reorder copies the original job’s settings exactly, it’s worth checking the details before you submit, particularly if anything about the artwork or finishing has changed since.
Where do I find templates and specification sheets?
They’re on the product pages themselves. Each product carries its own downloads, including artwork templates, stock spec sheets and setup guides, so you’re always working to the specification for the exact product you’re ordering.
Products
Are your products suitable for outdoor use?
Many are, but the lifespan varies a lot by material. As a guide, unlaminated corflute is rated at around 12 months of Australian sun, while PVC banners generally hold up for around two years. Adding a UV laminate, or moving up to foamed PVC or composite panel, extends outdoor life considerably.
The product page for each item states what it’s rated for, so check there before quoting a lifespan to your customer.
Are your prints waterproof?
It depends on the stock rather than the ink. PVC banner material, vinyl and BOPP label stocks are waterproof, and our UV-cured inks won’t run or smudge. Paper stocks are not waterproof and should be treated as indoor, dry-environment products.
What printing method do you use?
UV-cured inkjet. The ink is cured instantly as it prints, which is what makes prints hard-wearing, water-resistant and ready to finish immediately rather than needing to dry.
Can I order custom sizes or shapes?
Where a product supports it, the custom size or shape options appear in the configurator when you order. If an option isn’t shown for a product, it isn’t something we can produce for that item. We can’t process custom requests outside the system.
Where do I find full product specifications?
On each product page. Alongside the description you’ll find the technical detail for that product as downloadable spec sheets, covering material specifications, durability and application guidance.
