Composite Panel

Our Composite Panel signs are produced on premium 3mm ImageBond Lite Aluminium Composite Panel (ACP) — a professional-grade material designed for superior print performance, rigidity, and durability. Each sheet features two 0.21 mm aluminium skins bonded to a solid polyethylene core, creating a perfectly flat and dimensionally stable surface for high-quality signage.

Using direct UV flatbed printing, we achieve vibrant colour reproduction and excellent detail with a clean, satin finish. Each panel is precision-cut on our Zünd router to your specified contour, ensuring a consistent, professional result every time.

While the ImageBond Lite substrate is engineered for up to 8 years of outdoor use, the printed UV ink layer is rated for up to 2 years of outdoor exposure under normal Australian conditions. This makes Composite Panel ideal for premium indoor or short-term outdoor signage, retail displays, architectural panels, and branded feature walls.

Rigid & Long-Lasting

Constructed from two aluminium layers bonded to a polyethylene core, Composite Panel provides exceptional rigidity, impact resistance, and dimensional stability. Router Cut to Shape

Each sign is router-cut to your specified contour on our precision Zünd digital cutter. We support simple shapes with clean, smooth outlines (up to five points) to ensure high-quality results and efficient production.

Sustainability

Recyclable Aluminium & Core

Both the aluminium skins and the polyethylene core are fully recyclable, allowing the panels to be re-processed through approved metal and plastic recycling streams, supporting circular manufacturing and reducing landfill waste.

What thickness is available for Composite Panels?

We offer 3mm ImageBond Lite Aluminium Composite Panel only. This thickness provides the best balance between strength, rigidity, and weight for professional-grade signage.

What is the maximum sheet size?

The maximum printable area is 1200 × 2400 mm, suitable for most display, wall-mounted, or retail signage applications.

Can Composite Panel be used outdoors?

Yes. The panel itself is rated for up to 8 years outdoors, but the printed UV ink layer is designed for up to 2 years of outdoor exposure. It’s ideal for long-term indoor displays and medium-term outdoor use.

What printing method is used?

We print directly onto the panel using UV flatbed technology. This method produces a durable, scratch-resistant finish with vivid colours and sharp detail. We do not apply additional coatings or laminates over the print surface.

Is double-sided printing available?

No. Composite Panel is available as single-sided print only to ensure a smooth, uniform finish and precision routing on the rear side.

Do you offer additional finishing options?

We print and route only. We do not offer drilling, taping, lamination, or framing, ensuring consistent automated production and fast turnaround times.

Can I order custom shapes?

Yes. Panels can be router-cut to your specified contour for a clean, precise edge. Simple convex or contour shapes are supported for optimal quality and finish.

Is the panel fire-rated?

ImageBond Lite carries a fire rating of B-s1, d0. However, if your application requires strict fire-protection compliance or construction-grade certification, this product may not be suitable. We recommend consulting with the relevant certifier, builder, or fire engineer to confirm material suitability through another supplier, as we would not recommend this stock where absolute fire-rating certainty is required.

What are typical production turnaround times?

Orders under $1,000 + GST are produced within two business days after artwork approval. For each additional $2,000 + GST, please allow one extra business day.

Do you offer express production?

No. All orders are queued in order of artwork approval to maintain fairness, efficiency, and consistency for all trade customers.

Can Composite Panels be recycled?

Yes. Both the aluminium skins and the core materials can be recycled through approved metal and plastic recovery programs, contributing to sustainable signage disposal.

Can I order a sample before a large job?

Yes. We recommend ordering a small printed sample to confirm colour accuracy, surface finish, and edge quality before proceeding with larger production runs.

Why does pricing change in steps instead of increasing evenly with quantity?

Composite Panel pricing is calculated using a true cost, sheet based production model rather than square metre pricing. Panels are produced and printed in full sheet sizes, meaning pricing may remain the same across certain quantity ranges and then step up only when an additional panel is required. This reflects the actual cost of materials, machining, handling, and waste, ensuring transparent pricing with no hidden cost recovery. Compared to square metre pricing models, this approach delivers clearer cost alignment and more predictable outcomes for trade customers.

Can you make exceptions to finishes or turnaround times for one-off Composite Panel orders?

No. Composite Panel orders must be submitted using the options and turnaround times available in our system, and we’re unable to accommodate one-off changes outside of those parameters. Our production model is designed around standardised workflows that ensure consistent quality and delivery. If you identify a long-term opportunity driven by volume or market demand, we welcome that feedback for future review.
