Recently NewSat came to us wanting to brand their vehicle and trailer. They have come to us in the past for stickers for a range of their Sattellitte products.

This customer had a concept ready of how they wanted the vehicle to look. However with any vehicle job of this scale we like to do a test print to ensure all of the colours used were accurate with this companies branding. We provided 2 samples using the CMYK and Pantone breakdown. This is important as we are a digital printer it is impossible for us to hit spot colours 100%. The customer was very happy with this option as they could match this to other branding they have had done. They eventually chose the CMYK option.

The vehicle and trailer were dropped to us on a Monday. The trailer came to us a few weeks after being spray painted. With anything painted it needs to be properly done and given at least 3-4 weeks for the paint to cure. One of the dangers of this curing time not being achieved along with a proper paint job is on removal of the graphics paint may be peeled.

By having the vehicles for the week we were able to measure the graphics exactly before they went to print. For the print we used a an Avery Fleet film which was laminated. The reason this was ideal in this application is because the graphics were contour cut yet they had to be heated to conform with the grooves on the car.

The installation was handled by Jason our Avery Gold Certified installer. As part of this install we also had to remove the old graphics on the vehicle. On removal there was ghosting of the old stickers. This is caused because the paint under the old graphics are protected from the prints so the paint around it fades. To give the best possible finish Jason did a light buff in order to remove any ghosting and have the impact taken away from our graphics.

The actual install including the ghosting removal and cleaning of the vehicle took about a day and the time afforded to us allowed the client to have the best possible finish.
Cerez Fair Foods recently came to us with a design to cover their van and get their message across. Their designs were ready prior to quoting.

Once the quote was approved the client came in for an initial meeting prior to installation. In this meeting we picked colour for the cut vinyl from the selection of over 50 colours from the Avery 900 series. We chose this material as the design was going in and out of the grooves of the van so we needed to use a cast material which can be heated into these grooves. By just laying in vinyl would distort the design and you would run the risk of the material failing and popping out. Also this product is a 7-10 year product so the life is a lot longer than other materials.

As the customer had pantone colours to match to as well we tried to match the colours as close as possible from a limited range as possible. However as this was going on a van for outdoor use we also used differing colours to get the best possible contrast while staying true to the companies branding. On our initial meeting we also measured up the vehicle to have the material ready before the van was ready to ensure there was as much down time as possible. At this point we realized there were a few minor alterations needed to the design which we organised with the client.

At installation time the van was dropped off to us for the day in a clean condition. However before installing any of the graphic we also cleaned down the vehicle installation areas with iso prop alcohol. The installation was done in a day and was done over a weekend to minimize down time for the client with having the vehicle off the road. Also having the vehicle for longer than we needed to gave us more time to ensure all areas were installed perfectly.

Recently Claytons came to us wanting to partially wrap their fleet. They had a budget and a design in mind. Their initial concept had to be tweaked to suit their vehicles and budget. In the quoting phase we were able to advise on what changes needed to be made.

Instead of printing a half tone pattern which would look out of place on the vehicle we were able to create one from scratch out of coloured vinyl and supply this to the customers. Also as the customer were specific on their pantones we were able to discuss this with them and ensure we used the right coloured pantones for their job.

After the designs were provided to the customer and all tweaked, as this was for a fleet of 15 vehicles we decided to do one of the vehicles first to ensure everything was fine. On this template car a few tweaks were needed which were easily done. The whole vehicle except the little logo’s where done in coloured cut vinyl which has a life of 7 years for longevity.

What we liked about this design was the colour of the grey in the background blends in with the car in certain lights and also changes colour from different angles to stand out.

On another day 4 more vehicles were brought in the morning. The great thing was were able to fit all four vehicles in our production area in doors at once while it was raining outside. Jamie was the chauffer driving the drivers back to head office whilst Jason and Matt worked away installing the vehicles. In a day we were able to complete these four vehicles as we had the material ready prior to installation. We also are organising for the fleet interstate to be partially wrapped as well.

For more information please check out our vehicle signage page to see what other projects we have worked on in the past.

Anmar Group for Claytons recently came to us to help them with a project. They have a fleet of grey Mitsubishi Tritons.

Working with a strict the budget the client had a design in mind. They wanted a their logo with a nice overlapping background. Initially they had wanted a partial wrap however due to several reasons this was not feasible. Firstly it was out of their budget. Also the durability in this case was not what they were after. They also had a gradient along the sides which could not be partially wrapped as the greys on the car to the print would not match.

After consultation we came up with a half tone pattern for the sides of the vehicle in the green rectangles. This trick on the eye was suitable for this install as it blended in with the car as discretely as possible.

As this is done for a fleet, on the initial car we decided along with the client to initially bring in one vehicle which we could template and install to ensure this was perfect for the rest of the fleet.

On the install we had noticed that some of the design was not in suitable locations as it did not take into account badges and some curves on the car. So with some minor alterations we altered our template for the vehicle.

Overall this install we were very impressed with the text in the background. The slightly different colour makes a great affect on the body of the car.

Recently the team at Flinders Island Travel Centre came to us to brand one of their vehicles. They were looking for something simple for their vehicle doors.

In this case looking at their logo we recommended coloured cut vinyl. We only use a quality coloured vinyl which lasts for 7 years out doors. Other companies either use a 3 year or 5 year material. However we choose not to skimp out on vinyl or else we would do this as a print.

In the design process we measured the vehicle and showed how the logo would look on the vehicle. This was to give the customer a better idea of the final product. Once this was approved we set a time for the install.

Before doing any install we clean the surface free of any dirt. We do this with vinegar and also iso prop alchol. This is to ensure that any fine particles are removed leading to better adhesion for the stickers.

With the installation we like to layer each colour on the vehicle rather than having the different colours as one sticker. This reduces any bubbles or imperfections in our finishing. Overall the install took about 30 minutes.

What we liked about this design was in the logo the Flinders Island was jagged and not straight. This led to a great finished which makes you want to read the information thoroughly.

Recently Authentic Italian Flavours came to us to get another of their vans partially wrapped. They have had in past had signage on their other van which had windows on the side.

They wanted to incorporate the same design on this van. So after the design was approved we called the van in for a 15 minute measure up. In this time besides measuring the van, we also had to make a template for the side panels.

We prefer not doing any cutting on a vehicle so on this van making a template which is pre-cut and ready to stick on is ideal for us. We do this by tracing the actual area on a material which is stuck on the van. We then peel this material off and get it flat on a wall. We then take a photo which Gabby (our prepress extraordinaire) can trace and make to size. This means Jason can cut these panels to the unique shape through our digital cutting machines.

With the actual material we use, we never cut corners. Even on a wrap like this we prefer to use our Avery Supreme Wrapping film laminated. This is a bubble free material which has a flat paint like finish unlike other materials which has a honey comb pattern going through the print.

Timeline wise this customer could only have the vehicle off the road for an afternoon. Within a few hours Jason was able to prep and install this van from our location.

The customer was amazed with the paint like finish and the amount of detail that went into making the template for this job.

Next hire is a recruitment company which helps companies with their recruitment needs. In particular it focuses on short listing recruits.

They recently came to us with their existing Toyota Yaris which had been wrapped previously by another company. They had a need to remove the existing wrap, have a new design for their new branding and to install the new wrap on their vehicle.

When we first saw their vehicle we were horrified by the original wrap done by another company. It contained many joins which were unnecessary in the installation. They would have done this to either save on material or they were not skilled enough to do a wrap properly. We were able to strip and clean this vehicle in approximately half a day removing the existing wrap and glue.

In regards to the designing stage we are blessed to have Gabby our in-house graphic designer. Gabby was able to conjure up initial proofs however with the team at next hire it took a few slight changes to get the design 100% to what they needed.

However when we had the vehicle in to measure, some slight changes were needed as designing on screen to a flat surface is different when seeing the car in real life. We also provided a physical proof to the Next Hire team to approve colours and then we sent this to production to print.

At the production stage once the prints were laminated, we noticed that there was a slight issue with the logo on the sides of the vehicle which the customer had not picked up on. We then notified them of this and were luckily able to re-print this section and fix it only delaying the pick-up by a day.

In regards to the application, Jason took his time and used a few meters of extra material to ensure we installed this wrap with minimal joins hidden in area’s your eye will not normally see such as in curves. Compared to the previous wrap Jason has made this look like a paint job.

At Mediapoint our choice of material is the Avery Supreme Wrapping film which is bubble free and is clean removable within 3 years.

Overall this is a wrap we are very proud of in regards to both the design and install. It is sure to stand out on the roads and gain hundreds of thousands of impressions throughout the life of the wrap.

For more information check out vehicle wraps page or email us for more info. Pricing is done via email and we can handle all aspects of a wrap from design, to installation right through to removal.

What great way to turn your fleet into mobile billboards. Truck wraps such as this for Axima highlight how any vehicle can be wrapped to suit your branding. We can partially or fully wrap vehicles to suit most designs and budgets.

We can also wrap in coloured vinyl or printed vinyl. Coloured vinyl has the option of being more durable and in some cases such as this Axima wrap hitting exact corporate colours. On the other hand printing wraps can be more cost effective for multi coloured designs.
